Information on the Register of Electors
From 2004, Clare County Council is obliged to publish two versions of the Register of Electors – the Edited Register and the Full Register.
The Edited Register will contain the names and addresses of persons who have indicated that their details can be used for a purpose other than Electoral or other Statutory Use e.g. for Direct Marketing Use by a commercial or other organisations.
The Full Register lists everyone who is entitled to vote and once an Edited Register has been published can only be used for an Electoral or other Statutory purpose.
Clare County Council has arranged for an Application Form to be delivered to each householder throughout the County. It is imperative that the form be fully completed and returned whether or not the members of the household are currently registered to vote. No envelope or stamp is required.
If a person wants their details or those of any member of their household, who has reached the age of 18 or over, to be included in the Edited Register, they should tick the YES box in the RFA Form.
If you do not want your registration details to be available for direct marketing or other non-statutory uses, you should tick the NO box.
Your co-operation is requested to ensure that the RFA Form is completed for each eligible person, whether or not they are currently registered.
