Fire stations
County Clare's seven fire stations are located in the following towns:
Parts of south-east Clare in the environs of Limerick are covered by Limerick City Council Fire & Rescue Service on an agency basis. Similarly parts of north Clare on either side of the N18 national primary road contiguous to the Galway/Clare county border are covered by Gort Fire Brigade on an agency basis.
There are 78 fire fighters and 26 operational vehicles at present in the Clare County Council operational fire & rescue service. Clare County Fire & Rescue Service are well equipped to deal with most everyday emergencies. However the equipment has to be regularly updated to ensure that we are kept up to date.
Generally they carry the following equipment:

- Breathing apparatus sets & ancillary equipment
- Hydraulic crash rescue equipment including cutting and spreading tools
- Air lifting equipment
- Hand portable radios
- Lighting equipment including fixed and portable lighting
- Hose and branches
- Lines
- Salvage sheets
- Chemical protection suits
- Firefighting foam
- Small tools
- Chainsaws
- First aid equipment
Limerick City Council provide the statutory obligation as regards call-out of the fire service for Clare County Council on an agency basis as they do for all the fire brigades in Munster through the Regional Fire Communications Centre in Limerick .
Ennis Fire Station
The Clare County Fire & Rescue Service headquarters is located at Central Fire Station, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare. It is a 4 bay station with office accommodation for fire prevention, fire operations and building control staff. There is also a training yard including a breathing apparatus training building and lecture room facilities. There is a whole time station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 13 retained firefighters.

- 1 No. Water Tanker
Ennis Fire Brigade attends in excess of 400 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training drills take place on Tuesday nights from 19.00 - 21.00. The firefighters also carry our training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident, aerial appliance, chemical incident, confined space/height rescue, chainsaw operation, winch operation, hiab crane operation etc.
Shannon Fire Station
Shannon Fire Station is a 6 bay station with office accommodation, lecture room and training yard. There is a station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 9 retained firefighters.

- 1 No. Water Tanker
Shannon Fire Brigade attends in excess of 200 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training drills take place on Monday nights from 19.00 - 21.00. The firefighters also carry out training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident equipment, hydraulic platform, chemical incident, confined space/height rescue, chainsaw operation, winch operation etc.
Kilrush Fire Station
Kilrush Fire Station is a 3 bay station with office accommodation, lecture room and training yard. There is a station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 7 retained firefighters.

- 1 No. Water tanker
- 1 No. Four wheel drive equipment carrier
Kilrush Fire Brigade attends in excess of 100 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training Drills take place on Wednesday nights from 18.30 - 20.30. The firefighters also carry out training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident, confined space/height rescue, winch operation etc.
Ennistymon Fire Station
Ennistymon Fire Station is a 2 bay station with lecture room and training yard. There is a station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 7 retained firefighters.

Ennistymon Fire Brigade attends in excess of 100 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training drills take place on Monday nights from 19.00 - 21.00. The firefighters also carry out training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident, confined space/height rescue, chainsaw operation, winch operation etc.
Scarriff Fire Station
Scariff Fire Station is a 2 bay station with lecture room and training yard. There is also an adjoining storage shed for a Water Tanker Appliance. There is a station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 7 retained firefighters.

Scariff Fire Brigade attends approximately 70 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training drills take place on Thursday nights from 18.00 - 20.00. The firefighters also carry out training sessions on specialist equipment including breathing apparatus, road traffic accident, confined space/height rescue, chainsaw operation, winch operation etc.
Killaloe Fire Station
Killaloe Fire Station is a 1 bay station with a station officer, a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 7 retained firefighters.

Killaloe Fire Brigade attends approximately 70 calls per annum. These calls consist of chimney fires, house fires, road traffic accidents, flooding, special services, etc. Weekly training drills take place on Thursday nights from 19.00 - 21.00. Kilkee Fire Station
Kilkee Fire Station is a 1 bay station with a sub-station officer, driver mechanic and 7 retained firefighters.
