Priming Grants
The purpose of these grants is to allow the council to contribute financially to local groups such as residents associations, voluntary groups, etc. that carry out environmental works in their housing estates. Any group carrying out local environmental work can apply for grant aid and each application will be considered on its merits.
The grant must be used for the purpose of purchasing trees, shrubs, brushes, shovels weed killer and other incidental items which are required to carry out the environmental maintenance and improvement works. In 2010, Ennis Town Council issued almost €14,000 in priming grants to fifty seven various residents groups.
