Help

This section can be accessed from any page on the website and contains useful information and guidance on how to use and make the most of this website. The areas covered here include:

Navigating the Site

The site can be navigated in the following ways:

  • The header contains the title of the page with the Ennis Town Council logo, the tool bar, which contains links that are useful for finding your way around the site and the breadcrumb trail. The Breadcrumb trail provides the route that the user has taken through the site and consequently shows the context of the current page. For example, where a user has navigated to the Enforcements page via the Home and Planning pages, the Breadcrumb trail will show as follows:

    Home > Services > Planning > Enforcements

The user can choose to navigate back to any level of the trail by selecting the appropriate page.
  • The left hand side column contains the council's main menu which consists of links to other parts of the site and important pages on the site.
  • The middle column contains the main text area of the site and consists of the main content or information for the page.
  • The right hand side column has a 'Quick links' menu enabling users to get to popular areas of the site in one click.
  • The footer, at the bottom of the page, contains navigation links to help pages and Freedom of Information. The footer also contains Ennis Town Council contact details.
  • Some pages contain hyperlinks which link to either a related area within the site, an external website or a downloadable document.
  • To return to a previous page within the website select the back button on the browser's menu bar or click the right hand button on the mouse and select 'back'.
  • When selected, the Ennis Town Council logo will link to the main council page.
