Ennis Town Council

Housing Construction

How many Social Units were built and completed in 2005?

There was a total of 48 houses completed in 2005 at Roslevan. An additional 20 houses will also be provided at this location by Respond Housing Association.

Where does the Council build Houses?

The Council builds on its own land in appropriately zoned areas as set out in the Ennis & Environs Development Plan.

What type of Housing does the Council build?

The Council builds a mix of houses and apartments. The design of infill housing schemes depends on constraints of the location, but in the main would consist of two – storey dwellings with perhaps a three-storey element. The larger greenfield developments would comprise a mix of one, two, three and four storey units.

What is the Housing Density in our New Schemes?

All new housing proposals must comply with the provisions of the Residential Density Guidelines and Ennis & Environs Development Plan. The Council must be aware of the need to apply sustainability criteria to housing developments.
