  1. Adoption of the Minutes of the January Monthly Meeting of Ennis Town Council held on Wednesday, 7th January 2009 at 3:30 p.m

    1. To adopt Car Parking Bye-Laws 2009

  3. To note the resignation of Cllr T. Glynn as Deputy Mayor
  4. To elect a Deputy Mayor to fill the casual vacancy in the office of Deputy Mayor
  5. To approve the raising of a Loan for the Inner Relief Road. Report to follow
  6. Relocation of Icarus Sculpture Piece
  7. Notice of Motion Submitted by Councillor J. Flynn
    That Ennis Town Council will ensure that during and after the proposed redevelopment of Tim     Smyth Park (Fairgreen) the air ambulance helipad will be maintained and capable of day and night usage
  8. Notice of Motion Submitted by Councillor J. Flynn
    That Ennis Town Council urgently prepare a Taxi Rank Strategy for Ennis to include: revising the proposed layout at Parnell Street Carpark; provision of extra daytime and night time taxi rank locations; etc. in order to limit loss of public carparking while at the same time improving facilities and safety for taxi drivers and their customers particularly young people late at night.

    1. Letter received from The London Irish Centre thanking Ennis Town Council for their generous support for their work in the Irish Community in London.
    2. Letter received from St Mary of the Angels and St Clare, Manchester, extending gratitude for the generous support of the Council towards their work in Manchester.
    3. IBAL Anti-Litter League 2009.
    4. Response from the Office of the Minister for Education and Science with regard to Ennis Town Council's support of the Motion put by Macroom Town Council -
      That Macroom Town Council call on the Government to reverse the education cut-backs as   outlined in the Budget in view of the adverse effect it will have on teachers, parents and students alike
    5. Letter received from Ballina Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion adopted by that Council regarding planning permission for existing retail outlets.
    6. Email received from the Private Secretary to the Minister of Health regarding the Council's request for a meeting with the Minister.
    7. Letter from the secretary of Ennis Track Club requesting a civic reception be held to recognise the Ennis Track Club senior ladies team and their coach Gerry Hayes.

    1. "Ireland and the Recession" – 20th Colmcille Winter School being organised by Colmcille Heritage Trust with the co-operation of Co. Donegal Vocational Education Committee and taking place at the Colmcille Heritage Centre, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal on 27th February 2009 to 1st March 2009.
    2. "Review and Reform of Local Government in Ireland, North and South" –Training Seminar being organised by North South Confederation of Councillors and taking place at the Bellingham Castle Hotel, Co. Louth on Friday 20th & Saturday 21st February 2009.
    3. Training Seminar for Councillors, session one – Understanding Hospital Radio, session two – The Irish National War Memorial 1919-2009; is being organised by Kadenza Consultancies Ltd and taking place at the Green Isle Hotel, Dublin on Friday 27th and Saturday 28th February 2009
    4. "Climate change, alternative energies & the nuclear experience" – Training Seminar for Councillors being organised by Kadenza Consultancies Ltd and taking place at the Raheen House Hotel, Clonmel, Co Tipperary on Friday 6th March to Sunday 8th March 2009.
    5. "Sustainable jobs for Dundalk and Beyond" being organised by Dundalk Chamber and taking place at the Crowne Plaza Dundalk on Tuesday 10th February 2009.
    6. The 17th Annual Kerry Environmental Recognition Conference is being organised by the Rattoo Heritage Society and taking place at the Golf Hotel Ballybunion from Wednesday March 4th to Sunday March 8th 2009.
    7. "Women of 1916" being organised by County Wexford 1916 Trust and taking place at the Riverside Park Hotel, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford on Saturday 21st February 2009.
    8. International Local Government Convention 2009 organised by The Good Conference Company and taking place at the INEC Conference Centre, Killarney on Tuesday March 3rd to Friday March 6th 2009.
    9. "Maximising your Vote – tactics, strategies and techniques for the 2009 elections', organised by Third Sector Forum and taking place at the Red Cow Moran Hotel, Naas Road, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on Thursday 26th February to Saturday 28th February 2009.
    10. The Economic and Social Benefits of Preserving our Cultural Heritage, organised by Seanchai, Kerry Literary & Cultural Centre, and taking place in the Listowel Arms Hotel on Thursday the 5th March and Friday the 6th March 2009.
    11. The International Awards for Liveable Communities taking place in Pilsen, Czech Republic from the 8th to the 12th October 2009.
