In the interest of public safety that Ennis Town Council immediately in conjunction with Clare County Council put in place a temporary traffic island or other suitable/effective engineering solution at Cappahard/ Oakleigh Wood junction with the Tulla Road.

Notice of Motion Submitted by Councillor J. Flynn:
Ask the Town Clerk for a progress report on section of Inner Relief Road (E) from Station Road to Clare Road as yet undeveloped; in terms of CPO, funding and Part viii planning processes and likely completion date. -

- Letter received by the Mayor from Kenneth O'Loughlin requesting that the Council support him in his lobbying of the company Citylink to reinstate the Ennis Bus Stop on the Galway to Cork Route.
- Letter received from Joe Carey, T.D., enclosing initial response from Minister Mary Hanafin regarding the possibility of providing a waiver towards refuse collection costs.
- Acknowledgement from Timmy Dooley, T.D., regarding refuse collection service charges.
- Response from Mary Hanafin, T.D., regarding the possibility of an additional allowance towards refuse collection with an individual's social welfare payment.
- Letter from the office of John Gormley, T.D., Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government with regard to monies generated from motor tax in Clare.
- Letter from Irish Pipe Band Association extending gratitude for the generous sponsorship of €7,500 from Ennis Town Council.
- Letter received from Mullingar Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion considered by that Council regarding the reduction of the TV Licence fee.
- Letter received from Enniscorthy Choral Society thanking the Council for their contribution of €2,000.
- Letter from Kilrush Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion adopted by them regarding a request to the Minister for Health to consider the re-establishment of regional Health Boards.

- Preliminary Notification of the Local Authority Members Association Annual Spring Seminar to be held in The Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise on Thursday and Friday the 16th and 17th April 2009.
- "Local Sustainable Tourism Management in a Global Economic Slowdown" Conference being organised by Clonakilty District Chamber of Tourism and taking place at the Celtic Ross Hotel, Rosscarbery, West Cork on Friday 6th to Sunday 8th March 2009.
- Preliminary Notification of the Public Relations and the Media Training Seminar being organised by Kadenza Consultancies Ltd and taking place at the Silver Tassie Hotel, Letterkenny, Co Donegal on Friday 3rd to Sunday 5th April 2009.
