  1. Adoption of the Minutes of the January Monthly Meeting of
    Ennis Town Council held on Monday, 4th January 2010 at 3.30 pm.

  7. Notice of Motion submitted by Cllr. B. Meaney:
    “I request that Ennis Town Council review its scheme of letting priorities as provided for in Section 8 of the scheme.”
  8. Notice of Motion submitted by Cllr. B. Meaney:
    “That this Council include an option for a Saturday Farmers Market to be accommodated in the review of the Casual Trading Bye-Laws.”
  9. Notice of Motion submitted by Cllr. M Guilfoyle:
    “I ask this Council to put in place a oneway Traffic System at Garaunnakilla and eliminate car parking on right side of the street and also regulate proper traffic flow in, out of Barrack Street.”

    “That this Council would honour Bishop William Walsh on his retirement a civic reception in recognition of his years in Ennis.”

    “That Ennis Town Council write to the Minister for Health and Children Mary Harney outlining our concerns regarding the implications that any further closure of acute beds at the Mid West Regional Hospital in Ennis would have for the delivery of health services in County Clare, in light of reports that the National HSE Plan 2010 to cut 1100 acute beds from the System.”

    “That Ennis Town Council include Fioruisce in the Aughanteeroe Flood Protection Scheme”.

    “Ennis Town Council urge Minister for Education Batt O’Keeffe to overturn the decision by Fianna Fail/Green government to overturn its decision to reduce the number of Special Needs Assistants in classrooms throughout County Clare.”

    “That Ennis Town Council request Health Minister Mary Harney and Justice Minister Dermot Aherne immediately put a framework in place to regulate the operation of Headshops.”

    “That Ennis Town Council will seek the extension of Proposed Flood Relief Work at Aughanteeore to protect the adjoining Foiruisce Estate.”

    “That Ennis Town Council requests the relevant Government Ministers, including Ministers for Health and Justice, to urgently review and regulate the activities of “Head Shops” in the interest of the Health and Safety of Ennis and Clare Residents and if necessary to ban such retail outlets.”

    • Letter received from Killarney Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion adopted by them to call on the Minister for Enterprise and Employment to ensure the retention of the minimum wage.
    • Letter received from Monaghan Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion adopted by them regarding residential rents.
    • E-mail received from Castlebar Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion considered by them in relation to Politicians and Bankers who were responsible for undermining the economy.
    • Letter received from Clare County Council in relation to a resolution adopted at the December meeting of Clare County Council calling on the Council to provide a Graffiti Wall at a public place in the county.
    • Letter received from County Clare P.B. & S. Assoc., of New York City, Inc., extending an invitation to the Mayor of Ennis and Town Manager to attend St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York.

    • 21st Colmcille Winter School Conference, to be held on 26th to 28th February 2010, taking place at the Colmcille Heritage Centre, Church Hill, Letterkenny.
    • Mid West Regional Authority, 16th Annual Conference on “Environmental Designations – Barriers or Opportunities” on 4th & 5th February 2010 and taking place at the Greenhills Hotel, Ennis road, Limerick.
    • Media 2010 Training & Communications for Councillors being organised by The Institute of Professional Training, on 5th to 7th February 2010 and taking place at the Clonea Strand Hotel, Dungaravan, Co. Waterford.
    • Alcohol & Drug Abuse and Health & Safety being organised by the Institute of Professional Training on 26th to 28th February 2010 and taking place at the Raheen House Hotel, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary.
    • Business Investment District Scheme Conference being organised by Dundalk Chamber of Commerce on 11th May 2010 in the Ballymascanlon Hotel, Dundalk, Co. Louth.
    • Councillors Role in Changing Climate, Local Authority Members Association, Annual Conference on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th April 2010 at the Sligo Park Hotel, Sligo.
