    That Ennis Town Council erect a commerative plaque, or sculpture, in honour of those children who suffered in the Religious Industrial Schools and Magdalene Laundries, as a mark of our support and good wishes in their future journey in life.

    I am asking for support from my fellow Councillors to write to the Minister for Environment to ask him to consider giving Elected Council Members an input into the allocation of social housing.

    I request that Ennis Town Council call for a Yes vote in the upcoming Lisbon Treaty.

    To ask the Town Engineer to extend the ramp at Friar's Close in the interest of road safety and that Ennis Town Council would also give attention to the hedgerow which straddles the entrance to Friar's Close/Fergus Manor.

    That Ennis Town Council urgently provide improvements to Corrovorrin/Tulla Road Junction to ensure pedestrian and vehicular access /safety are enhanced by means of either a roundabout, lights controlled junction or road markings.

    4. Letter received from Irish Water Safety thanking the Council for their contribution of €2,000 towards the work of Irish Water Safety.
    5. Letter received from Cumann Merriman requesting funding for the Merriman Summer School.
    6. Letter received from Tuam Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion considered by that Council regarding the recommendation to abolish Town Councils.
    7. Letter received from Mullingar Town Council in relation to a Notice of Motion considered by that Council regarding the Home Energy Saving Scheme.

    1. Local Government Seminar for Councillors organised by TJK Conferences Ltd and taking place at the Patrick Punch Hotel, Limerick, on the 25th and 26th September 2009.
    2. Induction Training Programme for Newly Elected Members 2009, being organised by the Institute of Public Administration and taking place at a number of locations in September and October 2009.
    3. Revised Date for From the Canvass to the Council Chamber  (now titled Governance Training Seminar for Elected Members) being organised by the Institute of Professional Training and now taking place at the Station House Hotel, Clifden, Co. Galway on the 18th to the 20th September 2009.
    4. Nuclear Free Local Authorities All-Ireland Forum Seminar and Meeting being organised by Nuclear Free Local Authorities Secretariat and taking place at Bray Town Hall on Friday the 16th October 2009.
    5. Douglas Hyde Conference 2009 - Culture and the Economy being organised by Roscommon County Council in association with the Western Development Commission and taking place in the Abbeyfield Hotel, Ballaghaderreen on Friday the 16th October 2009.
    6. Local Government in Ireland being organised by the Department of Government, University College Cork and taking place in the O'Rahilly Building, Room 101, UCC on Friday the 18th September 2009.
    7. 7th National Tourism Conference being organised by Carlow Tourism and taking place at The Talbot Carlow, Portlaoise Road, Carlow on Thursday 24th to Saturday 26th September 2009.
    8. Innovation Challenges for SME's being organised by the Southern and Eastern Regional Assembly and taking place at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, Co. Meath on the 2nd October 2009.
