Official Languages Act 2003 - Preparation of a draft scheme

Clare Local Authorities propose to draft a second scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act, 2003. The primary objective of the Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.
Clare Local Authorities now wish to invite representations in relation to the preparation of the draft scheme from any interested parties. Submissions should ideally not exceed 4,000 words (c. 8 pages). Ideally submissions, which will be made available on www.clarecoco.ie, should be forwarded electronically to gaeilge@clarecoco.ie Alternatively, they may be posted to An tOifigeach Forbartha Gaeilge, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare.
The latest date for receipt of representations is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 25th, 2010.
