Temporary closing of roads: Skyride Etape Hibernia Cycling Event 22nd August 2010

Notice is hereby given in accordance with the Roads Act, 1993 and Article 12 of the Road Regulations 1994 that a decision has been made by the Council to temporarily close the following roads for the period stated in connection with the holding of the Skyride Etape Hibernia cycling event

Access from Ennis to M18 north to be via R352 Tulla Road. |
| 2 | Access from M18 East and South to Ennistymon & Lahinch, via Junction 14, R458 Gort/Barefield Road, Highfield Park, Lahinch Road and onto N85 heading west. Diversion signage to be in place.
Access from N85 Lahinch and Ennistymon to M18 via Claureen Roundabout, Lahinch Road, Highfield Park, R458 Gort/Barefield Road onto M18 at Junction 14. Diversion signage to be in place. |
| 3 | All adjoining roads to Drumbiggle Road will be closed during the event timings. Advance warning signage to be in place prior to and during event day. No diversion signage will be in place. Local alternative routes to be used as necessary. Subject to liaison and confirmation with Gardai, access/exit facilities may be in place for access/exit to local nursing home and to local housing estate with no alternative route. |
| 4 | During event timings, Carmody Street will be closed between Parnell Street junction and O’Connell Street junction. Traffic at Parnell Street junction will use Parnell Street or Old Mill Street. Advance warning signage to be in place prior to and during event day. No diversion signage will be in place. Traffic from Kilrush Road only will be permitted to travel along Carmody Street towards O’Connell Street junction. Traffic at O’Connell Street junction will use Clare Road or Turnpike Road. Traffic travelling along Limerick Road heading for Town Centre/Ennistymon will be advised, with the use of signage, of the closure ahead and to divert along Clonroad away from Carmody Street, towards R352 and follow alternative route into town centre or diversion route for Ennistymon. |
| 5 | During event timings, access to Market Street and Lower Market Street will be closed off from Carmody Street, Summerhill and Barrack and Old Barrack Street. Advance warning signage to be in place prior to and during event day. No diversion signage will be in place. Also, there will be no access to or from Market Street car park during the closure times. Local traffic in Summerhill will be allowed to exit only directly onto Carmody Street during closure. Fahys Lane will be closed with traffic diverted onto Parnell Street. Barrack and Old Barrack Street will be closed at O’Connell Street with local traffic allowed to exit only to O’Connell Street Parking restrictions will apply within Market Street and Lower Market Street from 18.00 hrs on Saturday 21st August 2010 until 18.00 hrs on Sunday 22nd August 2010. |
Pedestrian access will be available throughout the period and diversions will be in place. Traffic control measures, including signage, provided by IMG for Sky Ride Étape Hibernia.
